Things people ask us
How often does a rented property need an EICR?
In England, private landlords must have the electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years, give a copy of the report to tenants, and complete any required remedial work within 28 days. We can do the inspection and the remedials, and send you the paperwork for your records.
Do I need to upgrade my consumer unit?
Not always. Older fuse boards without RCD protection, or units with plastic casings in certain locations, are worth upgrading. We'll test first and tell you honestly whether it's needed.
How long does a full rewire take?
A typical three-bedroom house takes about five to eight working days, depending on access and whether it's occupied. We plan the work room by room so you keep power each evening wherever possible.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes. For shops, offices and production sites we regularly work evenings and weekends, and plan shutdowns around your operations.
Will I get a certificate?
Always. New circuits and alterations get an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate, and notifiable work is registered with building control through NICEIC.
Do you install air conditioning?
Yes, through our sister company Altitude Climate. Its F-Gas certified engineers fit and service air conditioning and heat pumps, and we handle the electrical side.
